Borgo Cioffi Site

ICOS Station: The IT-BCi station is located in a 15-hectare field irrigated using a central pivot system. The main crops are corn and alfalfa, along with some winter herbaceous crops. The eddy covariance and weather stations were installed approximately at the center of the rectangular field, which measures approximately 300 x 600 meters. The terrain is flat with a slight slope (2%) towards the south. The average annual air temperature is 18°C, with an average maximum of 30°C in summer. Annual precipitation is approximately 600 mm. The soil is mainly sandy-clay, although most of the material is of alluvial origin, deriving from the nearby Sele River. In some areas, stones and rocks can be found on the surfaces.
